The glossy, moulded synthetic patent upper of the Chevy x Nike Book 2 Pretty Penny draws from the original paint finish of Booker’s 1959 Chevrolet Impala, known as “Pretty Penny”. A V emblem on the tongue references the car’s hood ornament, while crossed Chevrolet flags and Impala embroidery at the heel complete the automotive story. Cushlon 3.0 foam brings a soft feel underfoot, balanced by responsive Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot. A foam sockliner completes the ride. The rubber outsole features a Nike Air Force 1-inspired brushstroke pattern for versatile traction. The fit is true to size, though the tapered toe box may feel more comfortable half a size up for wider feet. The moulded upper can feel firm at first and benefits from a short break-in period. Built for the court, it also stands out off it through its considered automotive details. Pretty Penny is the first release in the four-model Chevrolet Impala collaboration.
