The ASICS Gel-Kayano 12.1 Vandy The Pink Vanilla is a limited-edition retro running shoe created by VANDYTHEPINK for ASICS’ Ice Cream Pack. Its starting point is “ice-ke-ki”, a Korean term associated with nostalgic ice cream bars. Designer Vandy Son brings childhood memories to the shoe without overstating the theme. An Antique White open-mesh base is layered with cream and ivory synthetic leather panels, while banana-yellow stripes, strawberry-pink laces and colourful stitching complete the ice cream-inspired palette. Its sole construction is drawn from the GEL-NIMBUS 17, pairing visible dual-density GEL™ units with a FLUIDRIDE™ midsole for a soft, balanced feel through the day. The outsole is finished in pink rubber. A floral VANDYTHEPINK heel label and ice cream-illustrated sockliner offer the collaboration’s more personal details. The fit is true to size, though those with wider feet may prefer half a size up due to the toe spring. A considered everyday option for those drawn to early-2000s technical running aesthetics.
