Swatch x Audemars Piguet Royal Pop Lépine ‘Green Eight’
THE JOURNEY
Swatch x Audemars Piguet Royal Pop Lépine “Green Eight” is a Lépine-style pocket watch created by Swatch with Audemars Piguet. Part of the Royal Pop line, it also marks Swatch’s first major collaboration with a luxury house outside its own group. The name refers to the Royal Oak’s eight screws, while the design brings Audemars Piguet’s 1972 icon together with Swatch’s 1980s POP series in a single object. The 40 mm Bioceramic case, only 8.4 mm thick, feels more refined than expected. Vertical satin finishing across the bezel, crown and screws reinforces that impression. The crown at 12 o’clock preserves the true Lépine layout. A reworked hand-wound SISTEM51 movement delivers a 90-hour power reserve, while a Nivachron anti-magnetic hairspring adds everyday reassurance. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal on both sides gives the green Grande Tapisserie dial and blue-glowing Super-LumiNova hands clear definition. A calf leather strap with light green contrast stitching and a Bioceramic clip system makes it easy to wear around the neck. With the stand included in the box, it becomes a desk clock, and with the clip, a bag accessory. That versatility keeps it from being only a collector’s piece. Sold only through selected Swatch stores and with no online retail equivalent, this reference is available on sutore with authenticity assurance. Green Eight carries the language of high watchmaking into an object that feels light, yet serious.
